AB....C

C is for ...
Carlisle & Cumbria
chimney & cobblestones

This is Paternoster Row taken at 10.30pm
coming out of the pub
This is one of those shots that are taken without thought
a point and click attitude hoping for the best

l like the capture of the cobblestones in the foreground,
the street lamps creating the depth of field
 Dixons Chimney in silhouette
and a crescent moon in the distance

as featured on the new photo blog Capturing Carlisle

For a shot taken without thought, it is blimmin artistic. I love it!

That's beautiful! What camera did you use to get such a stunning photo?

It's gorgeous! The silhouettes, the perpective, that moon shot! And of course the lamplight reflected in the old cobblestones - I can't decide what best describes it - Streets Paved In Gold of Heaven or the Yellow Brick Road of Oz!

That is fab, would make a beautiful statement framed.

I agree with Moannie. I had a cousin who liked photographs, and the highest praise he could give was that it was a "true calendar picture." This one definitely fills the bill. If you ever want to print some off and sell them, I'll bet you wouldn't have any problem. Good, no great!, job!

Sorry about wasting space, doubling up my comments. Your site is very quick to pick up a submission. On a couple of sites I have to double click (which is what I did the last couple of times I commented) but your site is sensitive enough that I don't need to.

This was taken as you spilled out of the pub?? I need to drink more wine (as if I need any more encouragement)! This is a truly awesome shot, one that belongs on a wall. Gorgeous.

Wow thats a great photo.

That is a great photo - some of the best are taken in this way, eye and camera without the brain getting in the way.

Back to say a well deserved POTW pick.

Excellent shot. I love it. Belated congratulations on the potw. I'm desperately trying to catch up before another round appears.

Funny, the streets around my pub are a lot blurrier than that. ;-)
